01The Basics

What is RUMO?

RUMO is a web app that gives your AI the context it needs to actually know you. Through a guided process called context mining, you answer questions and RUMO compiles your answers into six structured Context Anchors — documents you drop into any AI tool so it works like it knows who you are. "Rumo" is the Portuguese word for direction, course, or heading. That’s what we want to give our agents and AI systems.

What is a Context Anchor?

A Context Anchor is a structured, portable document that answers one core question your AI needs to know about you — your identity, your voice, your stories, your situation, your life arc, or the people who matter. The term was coined by RUMO to describe personal context that does not expire with a single chat session. Each anchor is portable: paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or a custom agent and it has the foundation to work like it knows you.

What is context mining?

Context mining is RUMO’s guided process for surfacing the personal context an AI actually needs — the term RUMO coined for it. Instead of staring at a blank page, you answer curated questions across identity, voice, stories, situation, timeline, and relationships. Your answers become the raw material for your six Context Anchors. The questions are designed to surface what you would never think to write down on your own.

What are the six anchors?

Personal Constitution (who you are — your values and beliefs), Writing Codex (how you write — your voice and style), Story Bank (the stories you tell and the things you say), State of the Union (where you are right now), Timeline (where you have been and where you are headed), and Influence Roster (the people who shape your world). Start with one or build them all.

What does "RUMO" mean?

RUMO is the Portuguese word for direction, course, or heading — what a navigator sets before leaving port. The idea behind the name is simple: give your AI direction before you give it instructions.

Who is RUMO for?

Anyone who sees the potential in AI but is not sure where to start pulling the value out. You have watched these tools do impressive things for other people, then watched them hand you generic answers — the missing piece is context about you, and that is what RUMO builds. It scales from there: the writer training a custom GPT on their voice, the strategist loading a project with hard-earned context, the solo operator running a stack of agents, the founder spinning up an agentic chief of staff. Whether you just want AI that finally feels like yours or you are building a fleet of agents, RUMO is the foundation underneath it.

02Privacy & Your Data

Is my data private?

Yes. Your answers and anchors are visible only to you. If you are signed in, your data lives in Supabase, encrypted at rest and isolated per user with row-level security. If you use the free builder without an account, your answers stay in your own browser until you choose to create one. We never sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing — the only services that touch it are Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Anthropic (document generation). Your anchors are yours: export them, download them, or delete them anytime.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your answers, writing samples, vault entries, and generated documents are never used to train AI models — ours, Anthropic’s, or anyone else’s. RUMO uses Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your anchors, and under Anthropic’s commercial terms, API inputs and outputs are excluded from model training. Your context is processed to build your documents, then it is simply yours.

03Using Your Anchors

Which AI tools does RUMO work with?

All of them. RUMO produces plain, structured documents you can use with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, custom GPTs, agentic assistants — and whatever comes next. Your anchors are yours to keep and use anywhere.

How is RUMO different from writing a system prompt or custom instructions?

A system prompt is a one-off you rewrite for every tool. RUMO builds reusable Context Anchors once, then you carry them across every AI you use. It is the foundation layer underneath your prompts, not a replacement for them.

How is RUMO different from ChatGPT’s memory feature?

ChatGPT memory is automatic and locked to one platform — it lives only inside ChatGPT, you cannot fully inspect it, and you cannot take it with you. RUMO’s Context Anchors are documents you own: you build them once, read and edit every line, and carry them into Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or any custom agent. Your context does not disappear when you switch tools, and it never depends on what one platform decided to remember about you.

Is RUMO just a notes app for AI prompts?

No. A notes doc requires you to already know what to write and how to structure it. RUMO’s guided process — context mining — asks you curated questions that surface things you would never think to write down, then compiles your answers into structured documents formatted the way AI tools actually use them. The vault keeps every anchor current as your life changes, without starting over.

What do I get at the end?

Structured context documents you can drop into any AI tool. They are yours to keep and use however you want — export them, paste them, store them in your vault.

Can I use documents I already have?

Yes. You can upload an existing bio, writing samples, or notes at the start of each builder, and RUMO uses them as context alongside your answers.

What is the vault?

Your personal vault stores every anchor in one place, so you can revisit, regenerate, and update your documents anytime as your life changes. Vault access is included with the annual plan.

04Pricing & Time

Do I need to pay to try RUMO?

No. The Personal Constitution is completely free — build it, export it, use it. Upgrade only when you want the other five anchors.

How much does RUMO cost?

The Personal Constitution is always free. For $49/year you get all six anchors, the Chart Your Course guided session, your personal vault, and unlimited updates.

How long does it take?

About 15 minutes for the Personal Constitution. About an hour for the full six-anchor build, depending on how deep you go.
